I do not have PCOS

I went to the fertility clinic for the first time yesterday. I had
been so stressed out about it that my period had been delayed - it was
supposed to have been last week, but it only started day before
yesterday.
This meant that I had had to keep rebooking the doctor's appointment
for having my hormone levels tested, which had added to the stress,
and it also meant dealing with the awkwardness of wearing a pad and
bleeding on the examining table :/
But the doctor was very pleasant, and did a good job of making me feel
at ease. I asked for a female nurse to be present, when given the
option, and she was great at distracting me and making me relax.
Anyway, practically the first thing the doctor did was tell me he
suspected I had PCOS, and tell me how that was not at all a problem
and they had medicine to help deal with that.
Then he did an ultrasound and counted the maturing eggs and/or water
cysts in my ovaries (I saw two, but most of what I saw on the screen
made no sense to me), and the number was normal, so no PCOS anyway.
I was so relieved I couldn't concentrate on work the rest of the day.
I'm also a lot less concerned about all the gynecological exams I'm
going to have to have from now on.
(The only one I'm mildly put off by is a pap and chlamydia smear my
own doctor is going to have to do soonish - it was awkward last time.
This time I asked a female doctor to do it instead; even though I
don't know her, she's bound to be less awkward about it than he was.)
